Anyways, what really motivated me today? I went to this Indian Wedding with my Grandfather and my Uncle (Dad's brother). Both the families are rich families and this is supposed to be a grand event. But I'm not sorry to say, it all sucked. Maybe you would have liked it and I respect your opinion. But I'm entitled to have my opinion too. If you have any problems with it, I'm sorry but I'll have to tell you to deal with it.
I don't know if you would call me a hypocrite or an honest guy or something, but the thing is, when I hate people for complaining about all the things in any marriage gatherings in our family, I notice I do the same stuff when I go to other wedding parties.
Same happened tonight. I hated the food. It was like the caterers had something against the family or the guy who was getting married. Started with snacks. I would agree there was a lot of variety but, its not good when all the items suck. I started with Gol Gappe and I didn't like them. To make the my taste buds feel better, I tried Gulab Jamun and they weren't warm enough and even they didn't taste like the way I like them. So I saw a Chat Papdi stall and I went there and asked the guy to make me one plate. The moment he was giving me the plate, a lady in ugly green Saree came almost running holding her Saree from different places in a very odd fashion that I can't explain, almost snatched away the plate from the guy who made it for me and very shamelessly walked away. I asked him to make another one but within seconds, two kids came and stood in front of me, pushing me to the back. I noticed a couple of more people were on their way to the stall so I quit and left the stall without the Chat Papdi.
Then I tried Cheese Masala Dosa. It was okay. I got myself Pao Bhaji and the was the best dish I likes there and I'd rate it 6 on 10. Then I moved to the main course and most of that sucked too.
My point is...
They must have spent not less than $40,000USD on the marriage. But how much did they enjoy out of it? The whole family is worried and anxious all the time to make everything go perfect, which never actually happens. Everyone is running around to fix something or the other.
Why don't you spend all the money on yourself and your family and go out for a cruise or something and have a good time? Why are we supposed to do the conventional and the usual stuff?
(More to come...)
Stay tuned!!
